چکیده
Abelisaurid theropods are well known in Cretaceous beds along South America, particularly Patagonia. However, the record of latest abelisauroids is still far from satisfactory. Until recently, few taxa were described Maastrichtian beds: Carnotaurus sastrei and Quilmesaurus curriei, but also perhaps Abelisaurus comahuensis. In this contribution, we describe a new genus species (Niebla antiqua gen. et sp. nov.), medium-sized abelisaurid coming Late (Maastrichtian) Río Negro province, northern Patagonia, Argentina. The paleohistological analysis shows that individual has reached somatical maturity it represents an adult mid-sized abelisaurid. specimen represented by nearly complete braincase, fragmentary jaw teeth, relatively scapulocoracoid, dorsal ribs incomplete vertebrae. taxon small, much smaller than other coeval abelisaurids such as Abelisaurus. braincase autapomorphic features dorsoventrally tall basal tuber postemporal foramen enclosed parietal exoccipitals. scapulocoracoid notably similar to having posterodorsally oriented glenoid, expanded wide coraco-scapular plate, very narrow straight scapular blade. These different those abelisaurids, which may indicate unique conformation pectoral girdle among these American theropods.

A New Abelisaurid (dinosauria, Theropoda) from the Lameta Formation (cretaceous, Maastrichtian) of India
Many isolated dinosaur bones and teeth have been recovered from Cretaceous rocks in India, but associated remains are exceedingly rare. We report on the discovery of associated cranial and postcranial remains of a new abelisaurid theropod from latest Cretaceous rocks in western India. The new taxon is characterized by exceptionally elongated supratemporal fenestrae and a unique median nasofront...

A skeleton discovered in the Upper Cretaceous Sierra Barrosa Formation (Turonian-Coniacian) of Neuquén Province, Argentina represents a new species of theropod dinosaur related to the long snouted, highly pneumatized Megaraptoridae. The holotype specimen of Murusraptor barrosaensis n.gen et n.sp. (MCF-PVPH-411) includes much of the skull, axial skeleton, pelvis and tibia. Murusraptor is unique ...

Here we report on a new small deinonychosaurian theropod, Pamparaptor micros gen. et sp. nov., from the Late Cretaceous of Patagônia, Argentina. Pamparaptor micros exhibits a pedal structure previously unknown among South Américan deinonychosaurians. The new material provides new evidence about the morphology and taxonomic diversity of Patagônian deinonychosaurs. Pamparaptor is the smaller non-...

Paleoepidemiology (the study of disease and trauma in prehistoric populations) provides insight into the distribution of disease and can have implications for interpreting behavior in extinct organisms. A monospecific bonebed of the giant carcharodontosaurid Mapusaurus (minimum number of individuals = 9) from the Cañadón del Gato site, Neuquén Province, Argentina (Cenomanian) provides a rare op...

Recent field efforts in the Mahajanga Basin of northwestern Madagascar have recovered a diverse Late Cretaceous terrestrial and freshwater vertebrate fauna, including a growing diversity of avialans. Previous work on associated bird skeletons resulted in the description of two named avialans (Rahonavis, Vorona). Other materials, including two synsacra and numerous appendicular elements, represe...
